BRAINTREE, MASSACHUSETTS, June 25, 2007 –- Planon, a global provider of enterprise real estate and facilities announced today that the City of Antwerp went live with the first phase of Planon.
The implementation of Planon in an intensive seven-month project has laid a foundation for professional workplace management within the city administration. The working procedures for corrective maintenance work to buildings and the fleet are now processed via Planon (Windows client and Self Service) together with the reservation of meeting rooms. These processes are supported by a register of buildings, installations, rooms, and documents in Planon. There is also a set of interfaces designed to integrate Planon into the city’s financial and operational systems.
The actual implementation has run parallel with an internal reorganization and modernization of the data management. The end result is that for the first time the city now has a data system and set of processes for the integral administration of the working environment and has thereby laid the basis for further standardization around integrated workplace management. About 120 users are starting this month with Planon Windows Client and notices will be entered by 2,500 Self Service users.
This first phase was part of a contract in six phases until 2009. In phase 2 in October 2007, Planon will be fully integrated into the city’s financial system. The number of users will then rise to 200 for Windows Client and 8000 via intranet. In phase 3 early in 2008, the maintenance planning procedures will also be processed via Planon.
This go live represents a fine performance by the team from Planon Belgium in view of the project circumstances. Thanks to their constant commitment and willingness to deal with the circumstances in a flexible manner, the project has been a success and Planon is appreciated within the City as a professional partner. The City of Antwerp, as Belgium’s second city, is an important reference for Planon NV.
