Kodak Chooses PlanonKodak’s Graphic Communications Group, a unit of Eastman Kodak Company, is the world’s foremost imaging innovator. The Graphic Communications Group provides a range of commercial packaging, data printers and publishers and has one of the broadest portfolios of technologies, products, and services in the graphic communications and document capture industries. The lack of a comprehensive Workplace Management Solution historically meant the Kodak Graphic Communications Group experienced difficulties with space planning, facilities requests, and fixed asset management. They were seeking an enterprise class solution that would help maximize the lifetime of their assets while effectively managing tasks, space, and assets. The solution had to work effectively and efficiently across geographic boundaries to deliver against these key criteria in a user-friendly and cost-effective manner. Additionally the consolidated solution would need to allow in-depth reporting and analysis. With IWMS being a business-critical application, Kodak carefully evaluated a range of solutions, including attending the IFMA World Expo and running numerous network compatibility tests, before deciding on Planon. Planons software solutions not only met Kodak’s system requirements but also met their price and service level needs. A key influencing factor behind choosing Planon was the systems architecture – while sophisticated enough to meet the technological requirements of Kodak, it remained simple enough to facilitate easy adoption, implementation, and use. An additional benefit was the global support service offered by Planon, which would prove valuable during implementation across Europe and Canada, and also during a proposed global implementation later this year. To date, implementation has been effortless, Planon has maintained a flexible, professional level of service from initial consultation through to system-wide roll-out.
